Dogs are affectionate creatures who crave attention. They’re also incredibly loyal animals who will always seek out the person they bond with. As a dog owner, I feel lucky to have a dog as a member of my family.
In a town called Mount Vernon, an elderly lady named Sally Reenhorn lived next door to a couple who owned an adorable St. Bernard puppy named Brody. Ever since Brody was a puppy, he often visited Sally’s home. Brody always went to the backdoor of Sally’s house, where he would patiently wait for the lady to greet him.
Sally welcomed the puppy and was always delighted whenever Brody came along for a visit. Sally didn’t have any dog treats in her home, but she gave Brody a piece of toast, which Brody gladly accepted and ate. This went on until it became a daily thing that Brody and Sally shared.
Sally loved having Brody visiting, and Sally even bought dog treats to give to her new cuddly and furry friend. However, Brody loved getting the piece of toast from Sally that he refused to eat the dog treats. Brody preferred the toast over the dog treats.
Sally and Brody were inseparable, and they always had great fun whenever they’re together. Unfortunately, Sally suffered from a mild heart attack, which meant that she could no longer safely live alone at her Mt. Vernon home. Sally needed to move to a senior housing center located three miles away from her Mount Vernon house.
Despite Sally not living in her Mt. Vernon home anymore, Brody would still visit. Brody didn’t understand that Sally didn’t live there anymore and would come home disappointed for not seeing Sally. For months, Brody visited Sally’s house every day and would even put his paw on the window to look for Sally inside the house.
Of course, Brody’s parents were heartbroken. So, they decided to surprise Brody by driving him to Sally’s retirement home to visit. When Brody arrived, he recognized Sally right away, to the delight of Sally. Brody even got his piece of toast. Sally and Brody’s friendship is truly something remarkable. Here’s a heartwarming video showing the friendship between Sally and Brody.
