A lost dog can be one of the scariest things that can ever happen to a dog owner. As dog owners, we often worry about the well-being of our beloved pet dogs. We will stop at nothing to find our lost dogs.
A woman named Jackie Perdue didn’t only lose one dog, but she experienced having two dogs missing. Jackie’s two dogs, Zoey and Coco Ellie were staying at her boyfriend’s parent’s house for Halloween. Jackie went out to do some errands, which only took her around three hours to do.
When Jackie came back to the house, she discovered that the front and back doors of the house were open. Jackie’s first thoughts were Coco Ellie and Zoey. She knew that the dogs would’ve gotten out. Jackie frantically searched for her two dogs, and she was freaking out and running out in the street, calling the names of her two dogs.
Unfortunately, Zoey and Coco Ellie were nowhere the be found. Jackie also worried because there was a canyon near the house. Jackie was concerned that her two dogs wouldn’t be able to manage to be out alone in the wild. However, Jackie didn’t lose hope. She continued looking for leads to find her dogs.
Thankfully, after two months of searching, there was hope. A man named Jack Mcinerney placed cameras on the canyon trails to monitor wildfires. It’s thanks to those cameras that one of Jackie’s dogs, Zoey, was found. When the footage of the dog was shown to Jackie, she was absolutely sure that the dog she saw in the video was Zoey. Although the dog looked frail and skinny, Jackie was a hundred percent certain that it was indeed Zoey.
For Jackie, finding Zoey was bittersweet. She was glad that Zoey’s still alive, but she was also heartbroken to see her in such a frail state. Jackie could see that Zoey had problems with her back legs.
As soon as word got out that Zoey was surviving somewhere in the canyon, the community banded together to conduct a search and rescue for Zoey. After a couple of days, Zoey was found, rescued, and reunited with Jackie. Jackie was so emotional that Zoey was back in her arms. Zoey also recognized her mom immediately and started to give her puppy kisses.
Zoey went through therapy to help her recover. Jackie also made sure that Zoey got everything she needed to be able to live normally again. Thanks to the generous donation from people all over the country, Zoey was given a wheelchair so she can be mobile again. The wheelchair gave Zoey newfound confidence since she was found.
Zoey’s enjoying life again thanks to her mom and the entire community that helped to find her. Jackie never gave up, looking for her dogs. Coco Ellie remains missing, and Jackie is still looking for her. Here’s a video showing how far a loving dog owner would go to find a lost dog.
