Because of their age, a lot of people would no longer save or even adopt a senior dog. But in truth, these dogs are sweet and make an excellent companion to specific individuals. That is why I can never understand why some people would abandon and just let a senior dog die because of their age.
Dusty Showers saw a post on Facebook about a dog left on a sewer. Nobody cared to save him. According to the local animal control, they won’t do anything because it would take them a lot of time and the rescue would be very costly. The dog would die anyway.
Luckily, Dusty thought otherwise. He thought if no one would save the abandoned senior dog, then he will. Dusty traveled to Florida and got the older dog’s address. Together with his friends, they were able to successfully saved Old Man Jenkins.

The rescue was terrifying, but Dusty didn’t mind. He was determined to save the terrified dog. He had to go into the sewer to get closer to the dog. At first, the dog was scared of Dusty. But eventually, he got the dog’s trust and allowed the man to hold him.
That’s when Dusty noticed that the Chihuahua was blind with cataracts. The dog was also dehydrated. Dusty proceeded to take care of the Chihuahua. He gave him the home and care that a senior dog needs.
Heartfelt thanks to you Dusty for rescuing Old Man Jenkins. You even went the extra mile so that you can ensure he is receiving the love and care he needs.
There are still people out there with a golden heart who is willing to do the extra mile to save lives, even if its an old, blind dog.
