Marathons are great avenues in meeting new people. Aside from enjoying the magnificent scenery, you get to interact with your fellow runners as well. A simple smile or wave from your fellow runners gives enough motivation to carry on with the race.

However, what if your motivation stems from an adorable homeless puppy you found along the way?

Wait! What’s that thing on the roadside?

Now and then, organizers hold marathon events to entice people in adopting a healthier lifestyle. While some participants join purely for leisurely purposes, most of them are runners to the core.

As a lover of long-distance races, Khemjira Klongsanun entered a marathon event in Bangkok, Thailand. She enjoys running, so it’s not a surprise to see her in this particular event.

But, this marathon’s bound to become different and change her life forever.

Khemjira already made it to the 7-mile mark when she spotted an unusual sight on the roadside – a puppy! However, Khemjira doesn’t know if this puppy’s just lost, or abandoned by its owner. As such, Khemjira opted to wait for a little while and look for either the pup’s mother or its owner.

Do you want to come with me, little puppy?

After a few minutes of waiting and searching, Khemjira found no one in sight. As such, she decided to take the cute puppy with her. Khemjira’s determined to run the remaining 19 miles with the pup!

It’s challenging to run around while carrying a thing or two in your hands. But, Khemjira doesn’t mind at all. In the video, one can see Khemjira smiling throughout the race while her newfound friend’s tucked comfortably in her arms.

It seems nothing can stop this woman from doing a little kind deed – even if it meant tagging along with an adorable pooch during a sprint.

Since no one wants you, then you’re mine.

Khemjira’s act of kindness didn’t end with the marathon. After the event, the woman adopted the puppy. She named it after the marathon’s name, Chombueng. Finally, Chombueng’s found his forever home with Khemjira.

However, to make sure, Khemjira went back to the spot where she found the pup. But, she did not find any of Chombueng’s family members or littermates. In the end, Chombueng’s officially become a part of Khemjira’s family.

See for yourself this amazing woman’s act of kindness and how it led her to meet her forever friend in the video below.
