Reunions are filled with aww moments and that’s exactly what happened when a handler was reunited with his police dog. It could be seen that the two have so much love for each other.
Long time apart
What’s the story behind the reunion? This is a question asked by many. As it turns out, the handler didn’t go to the office for two weeks. This may just be fourteen days for humans but for dogs, this feels like an eternity. It only makes sense that the dog was over the moon to finally be reunited with his handler again.
Someone took a video of the reunion. Viewers can’t help but smile when watching the dog gush over his handler.
A very strong bond
Police Constable Marc Richardson and Dutch have been together for more than five years now. The two have been through so many challenges together, and this is the reason why they share a special bond with each other. Dutch met Richardson when he was two years and six months old.
At present, Dutch works as a general purpose dog. He knows how to locate objects that have been dropped and sealed in cement. Dutch can also search for missing people and suspects by following the tracks or scent they leave on the ground. If a detained person runs away, Dutch can immediately bring them back to the police station.
A lifetime of friendship
Richardson enjoys the time he gets to spend with Dutch. For as long as he is happy, fit, and healthy, he will continue working with his furry friend. When asked about what will happen if he has to retire, Richardson said he is more than willing to bring Dutch with him. He considers him a part of his family and he can’t imagine living without the police dog. Watch their reunion here:
