A safe haven and a family to call their own – these are just some of the many things that stray dogs long for. This longing is put on pause when they’re turned over to animal shelters. The reason behind this being, shelters give them the care and attention they need.
After living in the shelter for quite some time, their desire to belong to a loving family returns. They feel this even more as they watch other dogs leave the shelter with their new fur parents. Such is the case of Ginnie, a lovely pooch from the United States. She lived stayed at Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue for half a year because no one wanted to adopt her.
What home feels like
Folks working at the shelter noticed how miserable Ginnie was, so they decided to find a home for her. They took her photos and uploaded them on their Facebook page. That’s when Lauren Smith Greeno, a woman devoted to helping animals in need, came to know about her.
Greeno was looking for a dog she could foster during the holidays when she saw the post. Her heart broke when she noticed how sad Ginnie’s eyes were. Convinced that the pooch was meant to be with her family, she immediately called Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue to express interested in fostering her.
After processing the papers, Greeno was finally able to open the doors of her home to Ginnie. The fur ball was thrilled when she met Greeno and her other canine siblings. She kept running around the house and showering everyone with wet kisses.
Toys for Ginnie
Greeno eventually decided to adopt Ginnie. She knew that all the dog ever wanted was to be part of a family, and she wanted to give her that. Well, that and she was already in love with Ginnie.
Aside from giving Ginnie a family, Greeno also gave her lots of toys. She wanted the pooch to experience what it’s like to play with toys every day.
