“It means no worries, For the rest of your days… It’s our problem-free philosophy – Hakuna Matata!”
Admit it—this was automatically the first song that came to mind upon reading the title of this article. And perhaps, you will be reminiscing several of the most memorable scenes from the Disney movie “The Lion King” when we’re done. But rather than lions, you will be visualizing golden retrievers and a cute baby in the scenes instead.
This is all thanks to a creative dad from southwest Florida who, with the help of his furry friends, was able to recreate an iconic scene from the animated film we’ve all grown up loving.
Mandi and Jeremy Johnson are professional dog trainers. They maintain a website called Aloha Kono that’s packed with insightful tips about their services and their life together with their golden retrievers named Kenai and Kono.
They have grown accustomed to being around dogs (after all, they have over 13 years of experience in training these creatures), but recently, they welcomed a new member of the pack—their baby girl Malia.
She was a happy addition to their little family and their patriarch Jeremy came up with a fun idea to announce their little girl’s arrival—ala Rafiki, carrying young Simba at the Pride Rock amidst lush African greenery and a wide variety of animals.
Jeremy says that that particular recreation was something they’ve always wanted to bring to life once they had a kid. They grabbed that chance when Malia came into their lives. And of course, her four-legged siblings were such good sports as they took on the role of Malia’s admiring, loyal subjects.
They uploaded the video on their Instagram account, well, let’s say that they knocked this one right out of the park.
Now that they have their precious daughter, the couple is looking forward to making more playful and creative memories with her and their beloved dogs, too. Their social media account already contains tons of photos with their child bonding with Kenai and Kono, so it looks like we might be expecting another fun scene-recreation very soon!
