Couple Took An Entire Year Rescuing A Stray Dog

Couple Took An Entire Year Rescuing A Stray Dog

Geojas Grover December 4, 2020

Most people would pretend that they didn’t see anything if they see a stray dog. Some who are compassionate enough would call an animal rescue organization or animal control. However, there are people who would try and rescue a stray dog and even give them a loving forever home by adopting the stray dog they save.

Marla and Joe live in an area where dogs are commonly abandoned or dumped by people. While walking around their neighborhood one day, they came across a large stray dog that was skinny and also a little skittish around people. Marla and Joe knew that the dog wanted food but was too afraid to come near people.

Marla and Joe decided to do everything to rescue the dog and give him a new forever home. The couple even named the dog Scooby and have decided that they would be the ones to provide Scooby with a loving forever home. However, Scooby proved to be quite the escape artist.

Whenever Marla or Joe tried to catch him, Scooby would escape every attempt that the couple made. Scooby would eat food from Marla and Joe’s hands, but he was also cautious and would run away almost immediately after grabbing the food. Marla and Joe knew that Scooby must have had a traumatic experience with people.

Marla and Joe also knew that it would take a lot of time for them to earn Scooby’s trust. When winter came, Scooby was nowhere to be found, and Marla and Joe were even worried for Scooby during the winter months since he had no home to shelter himself from the snow.

However, when spring came, Marla and Joe were surprised to find Scooby back and was running around on their property. Scooby even became trusting enough to follow Marla and Joe when they go for a walk in the neighborhood. However, Scooby still refused to get caught.

Suddenly, Joe had an idea to get Scooby to trust them. Joe and Marla decided to bring their dog, Samson, out and introduce him to Scooby. Scooby and Samson immediately became friends and spent the entire day playing. After seeing how Samson interacted with Marla and Joe, Scooby learned that the couple could be trusted and followed them inside their home.

It didn’t take long for Scooby to adjust to his new home. Marla and Joe couldn’t believe that it’s been a year since they tried rescuing Scooby. Thanks to Marla and Joe, Scooby finally has a forever home where he can be sure that he’s loved and cared for and will never be abandoned again. Here’s a heartwarming video featuring how a couple’s patience helped Scooby find his forever home.
